COMPANY’S BACKGROUND

Brief introduction of the Company

Founded in 1956 as the Institute of General Designing under the Ministry of Industry (whose name was changed since 1960 the Ministry of Heavy Industry).

In 1967, the Institute of General Designing was divided into 5 (five) professional design institutes, one of which was Institute of Project Planning and Equipment Designing, now under the name of THIKECO Investment Consultancy for Development and Construction Joint Stock Company.

Being the Design Institute specialized in mechanical works, over 40 years of construction, presently THIKECO becomes mulfi-professional consulting company and a EPC General Contractor who has implemented many projects with foreign capital on turn key basis as well.

THIKECO’s staffs are active and creative to overcome difficulties for increase of its competitiveness capability. THIKECO is one of the founders of Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association (VECAS – a member of International Federation of Consulting Engineers FIDIC) and one of the leading units of VECAS in the implementation of computer use in design work on the large scale.

THIKECO has successfully co-operated with foreign consultants to perform  investment projects in Vietnam, such as with Morrison Knudsen Corporation (American consultant) for design and construction management of Ford Vietnam Automobile Assembly Plant, with Chuchawal De Weger (Thailand + Holland consultants) for the design of Foremost Milk Plant, with PEC (Korean consultant) for the preparation of investment project of Diamond Plaza Tower in Hochiminh city and for design evaluation of Vietnam Steel Pipe Plant (Vinapipe), for the design of Steel Rolling Plant (VPS), with BERIM (French consultant) for the design of water drainage system of Thai Nguyen city, etc.

Many generations of THIKECO’s employees directly carried firearms to fight enemies or went to battlefields to support solders or went to Laos to work as specialists during the war time against American invaders and frontier protection war. Many generations of THIKECO’s labors are offsprings of war invalids and martyrs of  the passed wars.
